Where to Buy Army Supplies

HEY HO here’s a guide to where you can help your boyfriend to buy supplies from! (I feel like the internet lacks the support for girlfriends of NSFs. -__-) And more often than not, your boyfriend would have to buy a ton of stuff during his BMT phase and to expedite the process you can help him buy some of those stuff! 😀

Places to get supplies from:

  1. SAF eMart
    • Open daily from 10:30am to 8:30pm
    • SAFRA Mt Faber
      • Contact number: 6272 1269
    • THE CHEVRONS
      • Contact number: 6862 5600
  2. Army Market @ Beach Road
    • Open daily from 11am to 6:30pm
  3. Carousell (yay to online shopping 🙂 )
  4. D&G Online Store (online shopping!)

I haven’t patronised any of the places listed below, so I wouldn’t be talking about the pricing and what not. I’ve inserted some information about the shops so that it’s a wee bit more helpful. 🙂

The places listed below are within the vicinity of Pasir Ris Bus Interchange (PRBI) and White Sands (where recruits book-in and out from). So if you need something desperately, why not try out these places? :O

  1. Vending machine @ White Sands Taxi Stand
    • It’s “open” 24/7 😀
  2. G Military @ White Sands
    • Unit number 02-21
    • Open daily from 11am to 9pm
  3. HIS Army Shop @ PRBI
    • It’s located at the corner of the interchange
    • Here is their operating hours:
      • Monday: closed (exception if there are book-ins)
      • Tuesday to Saturday: 12pm to 7:30pm
      • Sunday: 11am to 8:30pm
      • They are basically open during book-ins and book-outs and as such, the operating hours aren’t too rigid.
    • Here’s their website that has all their details which include some tips like what a recruit would needs for field camp!

SAF eMart

There are 2 eMarts (known as The Lifestyle-Mart) across SG. One being @ SAFRA Mt Faber (#02-07, SAFRA Mount Faber, 2 Telok Blangah Way, Singapore) and the other being @ THE CHEVRONS (48 Boon Lay Way, Singapore).
The eMart @ CHEVRONS is located on the second level. Upon entering the gate from the bus stop, walk straight until you reach the lobby(?), then take the staircase on the left and voila you’ve found it (yay! Accomplishment :3).

The SAF eMart is honestly the most convenient place to get army supplies. Most of the items sold in the eMart are cheaper than at Beach Road since it’s subsidised by the government. In addition, some of the items can be paid using credits. (That’s if your boyfriend is around since you need to scan the 11B & key in DOB ._.)

#SavingMoney

#tip 1: The people at the eMart @ Chevrons (I live in the west ._.) are so nice and helpful. If you’re like me (a blur sotong), just ask them or google the image of the item and they’ll point out the item to you. They just make life easier, bless them. 😀

#tip 2: Try to go down on non-peak days like Monday to Thursday since army guys are gonna stock up on supplies during their book out from Friday to Sunday.

If you’re going down over the weekends, jump in line for the cashier while your boyfriend does the shopping since it takes a while to reach your turn. #auntytips

#tip(?) 3: Just get a pack of IPPT badge which consists of 5 velcro hooks (the rough part that’s sewed down) & 2 loops (the badge).
Velcro is actually a product and the actual term is hook-and-loop? @_@
5 hoops since they have 4 sets of uniform, so there’s 1 extra. 2 loops so that he can just alternate between 2 sets of uniforms. 😀 So yea, just get 1, don’t have to be kiasu and buy more. You can get the badge from the cashier when checking out your items!

#hidden tip 1: eMart sells spray type mosquito repellant too, not just the tube one!! They don’t display it openly (idk why they only display the tube one 😦 ), so you’ve to ask the cashier when you’re gonna pay for your items.

Army Market @ Beach Road

Army Market = Golden Mile Food Centre level 2

There’s sooooo many shops at the Army Market and the products that different stores sell are largely similar and so are the price range. I’ve just found a website that has floor plans of the Market being segregated into army supplies, clothing, camping, etc.

For myself, I’d usually visit Mash Shop since their store (02-117) is the first that I’d see upon climbing up to the 2nd storey of Golden Mile, coming from Lavender MRT. Besides, they have a wholesome selection of items.

#hidden tip 2: If you’re buying in a large quantity, you can try to negotiate the price. 😉 It’s usually just a couple of bucks off, but ya know the feeling of #cheapthrills.

The pig looks like an ah pek but you get the point :3

But then again, be reasonable in your negotiation. They are making a living and though the items may not be as cheap as eMart, they’ve been there for so long so support them!!
Besides, if you’re travelling home from Pasir Ris and Lavender MRT is on the way, why not drop by? 🙂

#tip 4: If you’re having a hard time locating a store selling a particular item, just ask the nearest store owner. He/she would gladly direct you to the store!
Some of the uncle/aunties got RBF but they actually very nice one lah. 🙂

#hidden tip 3: The ziplock is priced at just $1 per bundle of 5 for each size! (This is accurate for Mash Shop. Am not too sure about the rest of the stores. ._.) And it’s cheaper than eMart’s!

Carousell

Albeit Carousell may not have the best reputation, but items listed on this website would be cheaper as compared to sites like Qoo10 and Shopee since there isn’t a listing fee and Carousell would not take a cut of the sales. Just check out different sellers from different websites and make your decision! (I’m sure that y’all are internet savvy and won’t easily fall prey to scams :D)

Referring to #hidden tip 3, there is actually a place that sells even cheaper ziplock. It’s on Carousell by the seller sispecgiftshop!

Sispec Gift Shop’s listing on ziplock!

Now you might wonder if it’s the real deal. *doubtful emoji* The type of ziplock that he’s selling (D&G) are sold at SAFTI MI and it’s the same as those provided by the army.

Side track:
Does this sling bag look super familiar? That’s because it’s that sling bag where all cool poly kids would pin on a bunch of name tags and it’s by D&G! 😀

Here’s my review:
The seller is super patient, replies quickly and would answer all of my (dumb) queries. Just look at his profile and the amount of positive reviews! There isn’t a single negative review at all!

Sooooo
#tip 5 (in relation to above mentioned): Throughout your boyfriend’s army life, he’s gonna use a heck ton of ziplock. @_@ So it’s probably wise to just get 3 cartons of ziplock (1 of each size). It also saves you travelling time, since you’ve to go down to physical stores to get the ziplock. It’s just more convenient lah. 🙂

Get your boyfriend to share/sell it with/to his bunk mates and platoon mates since who would use up that much plastic alone, right?! I mean if you boyfriend has a younger sibling that’s gonna enlist soon-ish, I guess you can keep it..? (Tbh idk if ziplock can last that long..?)

Also like, the moment you get 1 carton, it’s already enough to qualify for free shipping!! 😀 what’s even better? They deliver the items the next day. How crazy is that?! That’s kinda like Amazon freaking Prime right? :O

#shockedfacepika

#tip 6: Check out Sispec Gift Shop on Carousell. It’s a one-stop online army shop, selling stuff like gloves, black tape, bags, badges, camo, soap sponge, etc..

Sispec Gift Shop’s profile.
Just look at his bio, the 🙂 feedback, amount of listing and the number of followers!

#tip 8 (with reference to tip 5): Get your boyfriend to sell the ziplock to his friends at:
carton price/500 or 250 pieces x quantity needed
Don’t be a dick by jacking up the price :/ Good things must share, thus this blog post. #BeNice

D&G Online Store

#hidden tip 4: Sispec Gift Shop on Carousell is actually D&G online store. :O So I guess, you can order from either! 😉

#amazed

Summary

  • Just ask if you’re unsure, be it irl or on the net (ask Google hehe).
  • Compare prices (if you want to)
  • Help your man get some stuff *heart emoji*

Being a girlfriend to an NSF is not easy but I’m sure he appreciates the little things that you help him in. Besides, if you’re helping him to get the stuff prior to his book-out, that means that y’all can spend more time together when he books out. 😀
